WRH MARKETING UK DELIVERS FERAG POLYSTREAM TO PRINOVIS LIVERPOOL
Release date: 12.10.2009
WRH Marketing UK Ltd today announced that the Ferag PolyStream line installed at Prinovis Liverpool as part of a test partnership between Prinovis and Ferag, is now fully operational as part of an production facility currently processing up to 40 million polybags a month. Compared with existing packaging lines, Prinovis Liverpool is expecting net speeds to increase by a factor of at least two and waste levels to be reduced. The PolyStream line allows up to 13 different products (print, CDs and other advertising add-ons) to be collected prior to sealing them in foil and other proprietary systems can feed the line via interfaces to the Ferag JetFeeder hopper.
PolyStream first awakened the interest of representatives from Prinovis at the November 2008 customer day in Hinwil. They were particularly impressed by the high production speeds of up to 30,000 polybags per hour. On the recommendation of their technical department, the management decided to install a PolyStream line within the context of a test partnership. Richard Gray, Managing Director of Prinovis Liverpool, comments: 'Since 2009, we have been producing all the magazines and supplements of a large British media company and the huge increase in volume further highlighted the need for highly productive polywrapping machinery. We were therefore very keen to find a solution that would achieve a far greater net output and significantly higher levels of productivity and are convinced that PolyStream will deliver the expected results.'
Prinovis Liverpool began production in mid-2006 as the Prinovis Group's most recent facility and one of the most modern and efficient rotogravure operations in the world. The 450-employee operation prints on four rotogravure machines and can process in excess of 180,000 tonnes of paper a year.
