TJ International claims top prize at BPIF Excellence Awards

Padstow-based book printer TJ International was recognised as the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) UK Company of the Year at the BPIF's 2003 Excellence Awards which took place at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square on 15th September 2003.

The awards evening began with BPIF President Ken Iddon of NB Colourprint, who thanked all of the evening's sponsors including headline supporters Antalis and LloydsTSB. The keynote speech was delivered by Lord Gavron, founder of the UK's largest and most successful independent printing company, St Ives.

Sharing the secrets of his success, Lord Gavron reminded guests of the huge value of employees to a business: 'You may be giving them some of your money but they are giving you some of their life,' he said.

Guest presenter David Gower was accompanied by BBC radio presenter Etholle Pegrum who was making her second appearance at the BPIF's Excellence Awards.
