The Ipex 2010 organisers have announced that the Indian International Day, to be held on May 20th, will be sponsored by Canon India. The day will be structured so that visitors and exhibitors can gain the greatest benefit. For instance, exhibitors will have a special emphasis that day on providing speakers, resources and material relevant to that important area of the world.

Unite the Union are to attend the largest English-speaking global technology event for print, publishing and media at The NEC, Birmingham, this year: Ipex 2010, taking place from 18th - 25th May. Unite intends to showcase the work it has done, and continues to do, towards supporting the up-skilling of graphics, print and media (GMP) workers.

Ipex 2010 has reached almost full capacity with more than 75 new international suppliers signing up to exhibit in the last couple of months, adding a total of 1,300 square metres to the overall floorplan. The latest companies to confirm their attendance include Adobe, Brandtjen & Kluge, Grafitek International, Timsons, Impression Technology, XMPIE, Tarrant Machines, ROI Distribution, Rotatek and Rotometrics and Technique MIS. For the first time, there will also be a Taiwanese Pavilion, including the following companies: Chens Asia, Chenchin Ironworks, Li Sheng, Yii-Lee, TAMI, Unisuntop.

The Ipex 2010 organisers have launched Ipex+, an easy to use online diary providing a comprehensive overview of free educational sessions on offer to visitors at the show. The system allows exhibitors to highlight on-stand seminars, educational debates and live presentations via www.ipex.org/plus so visitors can prepare in advance of the show and maximise the time they spend at Ipex.

The Ipex 2010 organisers are making it easier than ever for visitors to access sector-specific highlights at the show. Whether its pre-press, printing or finishing you’re interested in, the Ipex Guided Tours, run in association with the Proskills Academy, will allow you to see your top Ipex targets in just two hours.

The organisers of Ipex 2010 have announced the Father of Modern CTP Technology, Dan Gelbart, as the latest winner of its international ‘Champions in Print’ Awards. Mr Gelbart, the eighth industry pioneer to be honoured with this accolade, has been awarded for being instrumental in the move from analogue to digital pre-press printing.

The Ipex 2010 organisers have confirmed the return of the successful country–specific International Days to help non-UK visitors to be more focused and time-efficient at the show. Visitors planning to attend the international Ipex 2010 exhibition on 25th May, which is the last day of the global print, publishing and media event, will also benefit from free admission to the first day of the Total Processing & Packaging 2010 exhibition, taking place from 25th-27th May at The NEC, Birmingham, UK.

The Ipex organisers have launched Ipex Connect, a sophisticated and free online service on the Ipex website, designed to link up exhibitors interested in expanding their business globally with suitable agents and distributors. Based on the hugely successful Agent & Distributor Matchmaking Scheme in 2006, Ipex Connect provides a comprehensive list of active dealers and exhibitors in specific locations, allowing all users from around the world to get in touch with distributors and suppliers that they may otherwise not know about.
