Ipex 2010 sparks new wave of industry optimism

Tens of millions of pounds invested

Professor Frank Romano, international analyst and Ipex ‘Champion in Print’ best summed up the mood of exhibitors and visitors when he declared that “Ipex 2010 has demonstrated that the printing industry is back in business”.

At the mid-way stage of Ipex 2010, the organisers are delighted with the overall visitor numbers which are in line with those of 2006, despite industry consolidation. By the end of day three (Thursday, 20^th May), over 35,000 visitors from more than 120 countries had walked through Ipex’s doors, with international attendance up by 16%, representing 56% of the overall visitors.

The Ipex organisers are delighted to announce that David Preskett has been appointed President of Ipex 2014. He will assume the role from the current President George Clarke when Ipex 2010 closes on 25^th May.

Ipex 2010 got off to a notable start, following a high profile opening ceremony which saw the print community celebrating the inspiring work of the Ipex ’Champions in Print’.

With the launch of the Printers’ Profit Zone, The Great Print Debates and the Knowledge Centre, the Ipex 2010 organisers are offering a comprehensive and interactive learning programme designed to equip printers with practical business solutions and free expert advice on topics such as increasing sales and profit, raising capital, finance, education, marketing, print buying and the environment.

For the eighth time, the cosmopolitan city of Birmingham is hosting the international Ipex 2010 exhibition which takes place from 18^th - 25^th May 2010 at The NEC, Birmingham, UK. With over 1,000 exhibiting companies from over 40 countries, who among them will occupy an impressive gross floorspace of 100,000 square metres throughout 11 adjoining exhibition halls, Ipex 2010 provides a spectacular showcase of the best in printing equipment, workflow and consumables.

Following a number of enquiries from exhibitors, the Ipex 2010 organisers have teamed up with Barker Brettell, a leading specialist firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys based in the UK to provide on-site advice concerning patents, trade marks, copyrights, designs and other intellectual property rights.
