Following the enthusiastic response of visitors to FESPA Digital towards the on-site conference programme, FESPA will work in partnership with its national associations to roll out a more extensive European programme of stand-alone, not-for-profit educational conferences, beginning in spring 2007.

FESPA staged its first truly global General Assembly in Bratislava, Slovakia, this month, welcoming representatives from 24 of its 27 national associations to the three-day event. They were joined by delegates from FESPA's associate members in Australia, China, India and Thailand, whose relationship with FESPA was ratified at last year's meeting in Slovenia.

FESPA has appointed Marcus Timson to the newly-created role of group commercial manager, reporting to exhibition director Frazer Chesterman.

FESPA has launched an online technical Question and Answer service for members of FESPA's national Associations. Printers can now simply access a password-protected area of the FESPA website (www.fespa.com), register their details, and post their question, which may address any aspect of screen, pad and digital printing.

FESPA has welcomed a new Italian national association to the organisation, with immediate effect. SIOTEC (Serigrafie Italiane Organizzate Tecnologie Correlate), headquartered in Milan, was recognised by the Italian authorities in February this year.

FESPA's E-learning Programme for screen printers is now available in German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Finnish, Norwegian, and Polish.

FESPA is encouraging screen and digital printers to explore the productivity benefits of automated PDF workflows, and has partnered with industry specialist Enfocus to launch a new FESPA Certified PDF initiative.

FESPA has taken positive steps towards implementing a programme of educational and business support initiatives for the benefit of the international screen and digital printing community, with the formation of the FESPA Projects Committee.
