Domino Enjoys Rapid Milestone Success With High Performance 291bk And 191bk Inks

Release date: 24.08.2006

World-leading ink jet and laser solutions provider, Domino Printing Sciences, plc has reached significant milestones with two of its most recently launched inks. Introduced only 24 months ago, Domino is already celebrating the sale of the 1000th A-Series continuous ink jet printer to use the company's advanced 291BK MEK-based black ink. The record sale comes as Domino also ships the 100th A-Series printer to use its 191BK ethanol-based black ink, which itself was launched less than a year ago. Domino's Belgium distributor Bopack sold the 1000th 291BK configured A-Series ink jet printer. Due to its moisture-tolerant formulation, the 291BK black ink takes performance levels of the A-Series printer to new extremes with its ability to run for 2000 hours without an air dryer. As a result, the 291BK ink represents an extremely cost-effective option for customers requiring a reliable and robust ink option for use in multiple applications. Representing Domino's second milestone achievement is the installation of its 100th 191BK configured A-Series printer, which was purchased by a leading food manufacturer in Germany. Like its 291BK ink counterpart, Domino's 191BK ethanol-based option provides improved efficiencies and reliability, and is the company's first ethanol-based ink capable of running for 1200 hours without an airdryer. The low taint content of 191BK makes it suitable for a wide range of uses, which in addition to confectionery and pharmaceutical applications, includes flexible food packaging. Andrew Gunton, Domino's Fluids Product Manager, adds, 'This double achievement for two of our most popular inks reflects the tremendous efforts of our highly skilled team of specialist chemists and technicians here at Domino. The fact that we have been able to so quickly ramp up such huge sales of A-Series printers using these inks underscores the reliability, robustness and high-performance of these fluids and reflects our position at the cutting edge of industrial ink development.'
