Domino Demonstrates Capabilities Of World's Best Selling Continuous Ink Jet Printer - The A-Series - At Tabexpo 2007
Release date: 26.11.2007
Domino Printing Sciences Plc is demonstrating the high speed numbering and traceability capabilities of its versatile A-Series range, the world's best-selling continuous ink jet printer, on stand number C82 Hall 6 at Tabexpo 2007. The A-Series Pinpoint™ variant offers a reliable option for the printing of variable text or Data Matrix codes onto packs, cartons or bundles within existing tobacco production lines.
On display will be the A-Series Pinpoint™, which is used to print high definition fine characters directly onto packs and cartons. Driven by specialist software designed by Domino specifically for the tobacco sector, the A-Series Pinpoint™ accurately delivers extremely fine, discreet characters as small as 0.8mm at unrivalled speeds of up to 308 metres per minute, while maintaining a top quality print.
Domino's ink jet printing technology makes managing coding and marking simple, reliable and cost effective. Maximum productivity is ensured, with minimal operator intervention. The complete start up and shut down process is controlled by one button, while the unique ink system design, using large internal reservoirs and a nozzle seal, allows the A-Series to have truly automatic print head cleaning, eliminating the aggravation of persistent manual cleaning and unscheduled servicing.
Designed to meet the stringent product specifications which are so important to the tobacco industry, the flexible A-Series range delivers proven, high quality variable data print capabilities without compromising existing tobacco production lines. The versatility of the A-Series printers allows them to be applied to a wide range of packaging applications, or to be used with Domino's range of laser coders and labellers to form a complete integrated system - perfect for manufacturers looking at aggregation or 'track and trace' solutions.
Whether running continuously or being shut down daily, the modular design and heated head technology ensure that code quality remains constant from the start of production until the line is shut down. The lightweight print head can be installed on virtually any production line, and its flexible configuration allows easy removal and repositioning of the head for precise and efficient job set up.
The A-Series is available with a range of inks specifically developed for the tobacco sector, that meet customer requirements for fast drying, high adhesion and low odour on a range of packaging substrates.
James Cutforth, Global Account Manager at Domino Printing Sciences plc says, 'With the ever present threat of illicit trading in tobacco products, Domino has recognised that tobacco manufacturers need support with their needs for increased security and traceability within their production and supply chains. The A-Series non-contact, high speed ink jet technology offers a high quality variable data printing solution which can be seamlessly integrated into existing lines, giving much greater flexibility for applications like unique numbering for aggregation or 'track and trace' solutions .'
