The first Autobond 36 SUV inkjet spot UV machine in North America has been installed at RBC Ministries in Michigan, USA, where it is being used in-line with their in-plant’s Autobond laminator to spot varnish book covers.

UK based laminator manufacturer Autobond is preparing for its inaugural visit to SAUDI PPSG 2011 from 28^th November to 1^st December, where Al-Khorayef (Hall 3 Booth 515-3), the Saudi Arabian agent for Autobond, will exhibit the Mini 36 SD TPM laminator with in-line 36 SUV inkjet spot UV machine. This is the first time that the groundbreaking inkjet spot UV technology will be showcased to the Middle Eastern and North African markets.

Supplyland, the Russian agent for UK laminator manufacturer Autobond, received a large amount of interest in the Mini 76 TH demonstrated on their stand at the Polygraphinter 2011 exhibition in Moscow at the beginning of October.

The world’s first Autobond Mini 36 SD TPM laminator with in-line 36 SUV inkjet spot UV machine has been installed at UK printer Sense Creative. The combination of machinery gives the Darlington company the capability to produce single or double-sided thermal lamination in one pass with spot UV on one side of the sheet, and single-sided lamination with spot UV one side and a magnetic film on the reverse, for the creation of work such as fridge magnets.

UK laminating machine manufacturer Autobond celebrated earlier this month its most successful week since the company was formed in 1978, after winning orders from eight different countries over a seven day period. These include the first of the recently redesigned B1 landscape Mini laminators, a Mini 105 TPH, which has been purchased by a UK printer in Bristol, plus the first sale via the Heidelberg distributor in Italy, Macchingraf, for a Mini 105 THS FL. This laminator is destined for a printer in the Naples area.

When Durk-Jorrit van der Eems, owner of Dutch printer Van der Eems, specified the features he wanted from his new laminator, he said that it would have to be cost effective at runs of ten sheets and of 10,000 sheets. A chance conversation with local Heidelberg agent Tetterode Nederland revealed that the company was about to take on the agency for Autobond in Holland.

George Gilmore, the founder of UK laminator manufacturer Autobond, passed on during Sunday 13^th February. He was 82 and had been suffering from prostate cancer. His funeral took place in Lurgan, Co. Armagh, on Friday 18^th and a memorial service will be held at noon on Friday 25^th February at the Loscoe Baptist Church, High Street, Loscoe, Derbyshire, DE75 7LF.

Autobond has started 2011 with a string of orders from around the world, including one for a Mini 36 TP laminator with inline Mini 36 SUV inkjet variable spot UV varnish, a post press technology breakthrough that Autobond announced to great acclaim last year, plus an order for two machines - a laminator and a UV coater - from a printer in Peru who has never seen an Autobond laminator.

After 14 years of reliable productivity, Mauritius commercial printer Precigraph decided to upgrade its water-based, manual-fed Autobond laminator with an automated model. The new Mini 76 T, installed in January, was sold by Autobond’s distributor in Mauritius, Robert Le Maire Intergraph, and has already had a significant impact on Precigraph’s ability to produce first class laminating.

Following its recent appointment to represent UK laminator manufacturer Autobond throughout Italy, Macchingraf will be demonstrating an Autobond Mini 36 TPM (hall 3, stand D2-E7) at the forthcoming Medprint 2011 exhibition, 23^rd – 26^th March, Fiera di Roma.
